Description: The wine immediately catches the eye with its deep dark purple hues. It exudes wonderful effusive notes as soon as the cork is pulled. The bountiful aromas have intriguing complexity and more than ample intensity with ripe, warm, red fruit, a spring like freshness and hints of spice. This rich fruit spreads across the palate with aromas transitioning to wonderful flavors, a beautifully balanced structure and restrained tannins that allow the wine to glide over the palate with a warm silkiness that leads to a long enjoyable finish.

Winemakers Notes: Vintage 2021 had below normal rainfall but rains continued through March, which was enough to give the vines a good start in Spring with plenty of moisture in the soil. There was no rain during the growing season, as the rains did not start until late October, 2021. The temperatures were relatively mild with only a few heat spikes during the summer. Harvest of Cabernet grapes was stretched out over a longer period than normal, from early September to mid-October. This allowed for better use of tank space, no hurry to empty one tank to make room for another lot. This translated into ideal timing for pressing red fermentations. All of the above helped us in harvesting grapes that have made a vintage that may be even better than the solid 2020.

After picking, hand-harvested fruit was fermented with utmost care and the resulting wine was aged 20 months in 60% new oak (100% French), with frequent racking the first year.

Vineyard: Our 2021 vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon is again from 4 distinctly different vineyard sites we have used the last few years, one from Mt. Veeder, the core vineyard I have been working with for almost 10 years. This was nicely rounded out by grapes from Howell Mountain, Coombsville, and the benchlands of Atlas Peak.

Your wines will be shipped by us in perfect condition and any damage incurred due to weather is not covered by the shipping company insurance, or guaranteed by us. We will gladly store your wine in our temperature-controlled cellar until the weather is more suitable for shipping.

Due to the increasing difficulty of shipping wine & spirits, shipments may take longer than expected, and expedited shipping methods are not available. We apologize for any inconvenience.
