The owners of Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka, Barry Young and C. Prentiss Orr, give new meaning to the phrase ‰ÛÏhandmade by locals.‰ Produced from an original mash using locally-grown potatoes, this batchdistilled vodka is produced by hand; in other words, without the use of automated controls. As Still Master, Barry chooses the more expensive and labor-intensive route and only uses the ‰ÛÏheart of the run‰, which he cuts based on taste and experience. Named after the owners‰۪ fathers, each bottle of Boyd & Blair is signed by Barry and then filled, corked, and dipped in wax by hand.
A quadruple-distillation process made Crystal Head as pure as vodka can be, but the quest for an almost mystical purity continued. As a final stage, the liquid was filtered through 500-million year-old crystals known as Herkimer diamonds. These quartz crystals are found in very few places in the world, including Herkimer, New York and regions in Tibet and Afghanistan. Perhaps because they share the raw material from which the original crystal heads were carved, they are thought to have similar spiritual qualities.
The Buddha’s Hand isn’t just a funny-looking lemon. It’s actually the lemon’s great grandfather. And maybe like all great lineage, its flavors and aromas run so much deeper - from jasmine to basil; apricot to fruitcake. Its acid bite is milder than a standard lemon, allowing these secondary flavors to take center stage, and dance a ballet on your palate.
HOPHEAD Vodka, the latest creation from Anchor Distilling Company, is distilled entirely from two types of hops from Washington’s Yakima Valley, the same hops used in the creation of some of Anchor’s legendary beers. HOPHEAD vodka captures the fresh, aromatic character of hops without the typical bitterness.
This is the ultimate Russian Vodka. By combining authentic Russian character with exceptional silky smoothness, this vodka ascends well above existing Premium vodka brands to the levels of a true work of art, beyond the Super-Premium classification. The ancient recipes are revived to produce ULTRA vodka, but the distilled spirits used to prepare this vodka undergo additional rectification treatment to practically eliminate the traces of congeners present in all lower quality vodkas. Special proprietary techniques are used to restore the original historic taste of Russian vodka. The packaging of our Limited Edition line is exceptional. Each bottle is also a work of art, with a traditional Russian miniature hand-painted on each bottle, and individually signed by the artist. The ULTRA bottle has a dome-like hand-painted cap cover that together with the painting makes it a perfect gift. It is also an attractive item for display or for collectors, because the scenes are changed on a regular basis.
Ketel One is the smoothest vodka imaginable. Born of a gentle coal fire under the watchful eye of a Master Distiller, Ketel One is created in limited quantities to preserve its exceptional quality. Only the heart of the distillate, the center of each batch, is considered fine enough to be called Ketel One. The first 100 gallons, and the last, are separated and discarded as being either too harsh or too weak. What remains is consistently the smoothest and most elegant Vodka available. This special technique is time consuming and costly but can only be accomplished by using potstills. The result more than justifies the added care and expense as is readily apparent with the first sampling of Ketel One.
